Face to Face 2009 is now over and what an extraordinary experience! Being with F2F delegates is one of the best things an entrepreneur can do - to be inspired, pumped up, motivated, entertained, rejuvenated.
The candid and moving tales told by people like Dean Hartman - owner of Nubody's Fitness - show the rest of us that even the most succesful entrepreneurs have their dark days - living near the edge of the precipice and needing real help to get safely back.
We learned that products, services, goods which are loved by the consumer are a result of great design and that when designing great products, everything is considered.
There is so much to Face to Face that a blog could never do it justice and so we will be editing content, video, photos to prepare a Face to Face experience for Progressmedia.ca viewers. Look for that in July 2009.
When you get a chance to spend time with people who live the world you live, who have challenges, fears and maybe the odd panic moment just like you do, it provides you with more than just valuable information and insight.
You are reminded that you're not alone and that there are always experienced people around who are eager to listen to your issues and to help you resolve them. That alone can give you the confidence to go on when it might seem that quiting is the only option.
Peter Conlon of Nautel talked about the power of belief. Not in a religious sense but from the perspective of "moving mountains." He said that if you believe in something strongly enough you can break the laws of physics.
Entrepreneurs, scientists, researchers, pioneers of all sorts have always broken the laws of physics - through sheer determination and the unshakeable belief in their vision. People will follow that kind of inspired leadership.
Face to Face is like going to the gym for entrepreneurs/business/community and even government leaders. It's hard work throughout the workout but you feel so good when you are done. And not because you are done but because you have had a rigourous experience and you are better for it - physically and fiscally.
try it next year. You and your organization will be thankful for it.
